**BT224 Type Connectors**

BT224 style plugs and sockets are manufactured from gray glass-filled polyester fitted with high-quality gold-plated contacts.

The male headers have long locking levers which serve to lock or disengage the mated connectors and molded-in polarizing keys. They are fully shrouded so that the receptacles can not be mismated. Plugs utilize tin-plated round termination pins on 2.54mm pitch for good solderability and are available in straight and right angled versions. The connector fixing hole dimensions are 2.55mm and the recommended PCB fixing hole size is 2.9 mm.

Cable mounting sockets provide a pre-loaded snap facility to ensure accurate cable alignment and fast termination to 1.27mm Speedbloc® ribbon cables. Ideal for bus interconnections and daisy chain applications. The sockets consist of three parts: the socket housing with double depth polarizing grooves to ensure effective polarization; cable locating and locking clip; cable strain relief clip.
