在任意 ProLiant G6 系列服务器或者 ProLiant G6 系列刀片服务器升级到 Integrated Lights-Out 2 (iLO 2) 固件版本 1.80 后，ProLiant 服务器或者 HP BladeSystem c7000 或 c3000 加快机箱风扇速度。 这是因为当服务器首次启动时，iLO 2 存储温度传感器之间的通信超过了阙值。

在开机自检 (POST) 过程中，Integrated Lights-Out 2 可能从硬盘控制器检测到无效的温度读数；或者，如果 iLO 2 有效温度不能在一分钟以上检测到，iLO 2 将停止轮询硬盘，假设温度传感器出现故障。 如果 iLO 2 收到无效的温度信息，iLO 2 为了降低硬盘的温度，，以降低硬盘温度。

可能还会包括其它症状：

You can set a power policy via the iLO configuration. By setting the CPU power modes to lower settings, the fans may also spin down accordingly.

The issue here is related to PCIe riser population. I worked with zero installed cards to a fully-populated enclosure. At around 3 installed cards, the fan speeds settled at higher levels. According to HP, this is by design. It also depends on the types of cards installed, and their power draw. My worst systems had legacy PCI-X risers installed with 5V cards or were running 4 or 5 HBAs and a PCIe flash device.

In ILO2 firmware 2.15 on my DL380 G6, the Temp 30 sensor (location: I/O Board Zone) indicates 65C and my fans are running at 78% capacity. The Caution level for this zone is 110C, and the Critical level is 115C.

Would anyone know where is located the Temp 30 sensor? There are 8 other sensors that point to "I/O Board Zone" locations.

The sensor is likely in the PCIe cage area, above the P410i RAID controller on the motherboard. This would be the rear-right corner of the server chassis looking from the front of the server.

"I/O Zone" in this context means the PCIe bus. Can you give us any detail about any PCIe cards installed in this server? Depending on what's installed, your fan speed will increase.

Here's the kicker: I saw a single line in some HP document stating that PCI card electrical load will cause the fans to throttle up. That was it! The HP AS Expander and M1015 cards were causing the fans to spin like crazy - while fine for the datacenter, NOT fine for the home lab.
