The is a Step-up Converter provides a power-supply solution for products powered by either a single-cell or 2-cell alkaline or NiMH or 1-cell Li-primary battery. Possible output currents depend on the input-to-output voltage ratio. The boost converter is based on a hysteretic controller topology using synchronous rectification to obtain maximum efficiency at minimal quiescent currents. The output voltage of this device is set internally to a fixed output voltage of 3V. The converter can be switched off by a featured enable pin. While being switched off, battery drain is minimized. To achieve high-efficiency, the power stage is implemented as a synchronous boost topology. Two actively controlled low RDSon power MOSFETs are used to achieve power switching.
